HL2 won't boot up-green screen
Machine is a '98 HL2. Condition in the moment is it won't boot up at all. Problem started after sitting about a week. Got "low battery" alarm at startup. Eventually got it to start up and home out and run the spindle but it would lock up shortly after that as in keyboard lock. Now I get only a "green screen" with blinking cursor at upper left hand. Machine beeps at power on and any key button on the control also beeps when pushed. With machine on, we replaced CMOS batteries and they were down to like 2.4-2.7 volts. Now a good 3 volts.
Removed and cleaned the MOCON board and video/floppy board and all wiring connections. Still only green screen. Machine has marginal resale value so I'm not going to buy a new system or mocon board. Next move is to depower the system board and reload everything if it will boot up. But would corrupted memory prevent booting up? Send the boards to "Precision Zone" board repair?? Low voltage power supply is good at ±12 volts and +5 volts and incoming power is right at 220 volts. 3 led's on mocon board on steady, "stat" led blinks
