Hi, I have been lucky enough to score a couple of brand new freebie 3KW Sanyo Denko Q1 200V AC servos c/w encoders, model Q1AA13300DXS00. I am wondering whether I could run these off an Argon drive, albeit under-powered but effectively using them to give me up to the 1500W maximum rating from the drive? I'll prob never need this sort of grunt but they are a nice durable heavy duty servo so why not use them?
Re: Will Argon drive work with a more powerful servo?
Hey Rich,
I am using an Argon on my direct drive force feedback wheel, driving a 2.3 KW servo without any issues. Of course, I am running at a lower RPM, but delivering the full compliment of 19A peak of sine without any issues.
So the short answer is yes, if it is a quality motor, you can under drive it and it will still work pretty well, just depends on your final application.
