Greetings
I dizzy from looking at this thread for dinosaur dxf files so perhaps someone can help me out. I'm trying to help my kids school fundraiser by donating some dinosaurs. My friend has the router and we want to cut them out of mdf but the files seems scattered, (at least to me). If some one could either email me some patterns or guide me where to go that would be terrific.
Thanks

hi i need help about my thc , i found problem with z floating head need photos
regards
I am requesting, I'm already doing that with a wooden bench Calador
I got my router going this weekend and try to cut a few of the dinos. One problem, The pieces are going everywhere when they are cut. I am using an upcut 1/8 bit and cutting all the way through the pieces. Should I be using a straight bit and not cutting through or leave tabs? Any help would be appreciated.
As I don't have a vaccuum table to hold my pieces down I'm going through the same problem. Usually I tape my stuff down with double sided tape, works ok as long as you don't have tape where the cut will be, gums up on the bit...
So I do a mirrored tape layout, which is kind of annoying if you have 65 narrow pieces.
My plan now is to cut nearly all the way through and leave a 1/128" or so,
I'll then pop them out and clean them up....
Not ideal, but well....
I found that Compression bits, like the Amana, work like a charm on MDF edge cutting, not so great if you want to machine something 3D in MDF.
Today has made the drawing and has cut
Who searched dxf can download here
Does anyone have dxf files for a 3d angel and fairy model they could share on this thread pls as I am looking for these
Your upcut bit doesnt help. It removed the saw dust as well as causes the pieces to want to lift out. When I cut mine, I used a straght bit. The dust then remains and helps hold the pieces in place. You can always leave a few 2mm tabs on the pieces and then cut them out by hand afterwards. Put the tabs in the slotted parts of the pieces, so you dont see any marks once the model is put together.
