    Default CNC turned sphere?

Will it be a good solution to use a cnc lathe in order to make wooden spheres? I´ve seen some fantastic result with ordinary lathes on Youtube, but I need to know if this also is possible with a cnc-machine?

I make "spheres" on my cnc lathe in aluminum. I use a 3 mm cutoff tool to turn both sides without a tool change. I turn the right side (Z+) first, then the Z- side. Of course I can't turn a whole sphere, there must be some material left on the Z+ side to hold the sphere.

I uderstand, but have you ever tried to turn it around and cut off the rest of it in order to make a completely round ball like this one: ?

No I didn't because I didn't need an aluminum or wooden ball!
You could of course make some kind of holder that grab's just around de sphere without making indents. then you could turn the last portion round.
