    Default Roboform 400

I have a Roboform 400 that keeps shutting down with an E909 error (Main Voltage too low). The voltage to the step up transformer and the voltage out of the transformer are good but machine continues to shut down at random and keeps giving me an E909 error. Any Suggestions?

for whatever reason, charmilles decided to measure the value of the 80 volt dc "well" voltage to monitor "mains too low" so if you get that error, you need to change (or at least check) the K2 (i think) relay....it comes on when the cutting section comes on.....

this relay supplies the raw ac voltage to the rectifiers which generate the 80 vdc cutting voltage, this circuit is unregulated, so you get a "mains too low" error if the 80 vdc is too low......go figure.....
it seems the contacts on the relay get arc'ed so they start to drop voltage after years of use....

hellava way to check the AC mains supply......

it seems that charmilles is only interested in "mains too low" only when the cutting section is fired up.....

i believe this is done to keep technology in spec.....

    good luck,

    michael
