Hello, Please I need some advise about the power of the intensifier pump.
I am trying to buy a waterjet cutting machine.
Some manufacturers offer me with 40hp and some others 50hp.. Does this 10hp difference make some really change or affect the operation speed working with the same conditions?
Having a 50 hp pump typically will allow you to run a 15/45 nozzle orifice combination. But most people with 50hp pumps run a 14/40 since it's less wear on the pump. A 40hp pump will not be able to run the same size nozzle orifice combo hence making you use something smaller like a 10/30 or slightly larger, whatever nearly maxes it out. It will cut slower because of this. There is a chart in the jet edge service manual and if you tell me the GPM at max pressure on each pump I can tell you what you could run nozzle orifice wise. Usually the nozzle orifice ratio is 3-1.
Application for what you can cut? No, one just will cut slower because it can't flow the same rate of water. Thus you will need to use a smaller orifice/nozzle size.
great. For me time is not the main issue. but anyway. If more power, more rate of water and then more abrasive consumption right? So this will be faster but more abrasive so cutting process more expensive. Is this proportional with revenue ? Thanks again !
