I am looking for help on dot peening in a CNC Horizontal mill (Mazak & Mori Seiki), in a production environment, with little to no programming adjusting needing to be made by the operators. What I am looking to peen is a QR code, identification #, machine/shift #, day #, part & pallet#. The shift # would change twice a day, the day # would change once a day, the part# would change with every part, and the pallet # would change back and forth from 1-2, total length and height would be about 1"x3". Looking to see if anyone out here is doing this, with what and how? I have looked into tapmatic dot peen tool for in the CNC and what I can see is the QR code is like a drill cycle for each indentation ( thats alot of rapid moves), I have also looked in Pryor and like what I see just not the price tag so Im asking for help here.
