Default Help needed - Liquid dispenser cnc

    Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum, I come from the 3d printing background.

I'm working on a new project which basically includes a cnc machine with a liquid dispenser head. As I said I'm new to cnc although a 3d printer is basically one.

This is the cnc I'm looking at
    https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32805289008.html

To be used with something like
    https://m.aliexpress.com/item/328156...st.32815647696

My question is as follows, the cnc board has 3 axis and 2 spindle ports, one for the regular motor which stays turned on throughout the work and the laser one which is used as a switch to activate/deactivate the laser (am I right on this)

The dispenser has a port which looms like a 3.5 mm Jack that connects to a pedal which controls the flow.

I think I can get the laser port to activate/deactivate the dispenser.

    1. Has someone done something like this?
    2. Will I have control over the z axis, frolm what I understand, which is not much, grbl will use the spindle port and the laser software the laser one.
    3. Does anyone can point me to an example of this sort of applications?

Thank you all in advance. I appreciate all the help I could get.

The router will work fine for positioning the dispensing head. No reason that would not have control over the Z axis. Sending the signal to trigger the dispenser should be no problem, you should be able to use any of several M code commands to send send the signal.

    The sequence would be:

    Move X & Y to position
    Move Z to position
Send dispenser activate signal (M7 maybe?)
    Dwell while dispensing
    Retract Z
    Move X & Y to new position.

I don't know anything about grbl so I can't help you there. I have built several dispenser systems, one using a router table.

Your English is good. Now I understand what you need.

Any router will do what you want, you only need to decide on the working area that you need. Just replace the spindle with the dispenser. Then control the dispenser with a M7 (coolant on) and M8 (coolant off) in the G code.

    Maybe like this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-USB-CN...NW3R:rk:3:pf:0

    hi

thanks for the reply, can i use a laser engraver for the same purpose instead of using a router, bcoz i saw a laser engraver the bed is not moving only the laser device is moving, my purpose of work also i think the glass should stay in a place and the dispenser should move, also please put some pictures or a link about the dispenser you mention in your reply

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-USB-Las...-/112370235525

pls check whether i can use this for my purpose

    thanks

In most of the routers the bed does not move. The laser frame might work also, but the one you show looks to be too light.

For a dispenser, you need to have one that will dispense whatever material you are working with. The dispenser pumps that I use for the machines that I build are very expensive, about US$8000. Not what you need. A powered syringe type dispenser would proabaly work for what you want. To keep the cost down to a reasonable range you may have to build your own dispenser.

Yes, it looks like it would work. I am not sure how to connect to the machine, but I am sure there is a way to do that.
