    Default M542 microstepper Drive

    Hi All
Can anyone tell me how to disable/enable this M542 driver with a hard wired switch? My controller board does not have an Enable output pin
    Thank you

assuming your control board is powered by a 5V supply or has a 5V output from its own 5V regulator

to disable the drive you only need to connect +5V to the + ENABLE terminal and 0V to the - ENABLE terminal

for your manual control just add a switch to break the connection to either the positive supply or the negative supply wire

The stepper enable circuit is really badly named. It is usually a disable switch. eg. connecting it disables the drive. Its more likely to be connected to an estop circuit or something like that if you want the drives to be disabled. But when just starting off, I's suggest you leave it disconnected so the drive is enabled (eg not disabled) all the time.
