Need Help! Miyano BNJ: Fatal TD01 alarm

Purchased Miyano BNJ-51S3 - 2011 machine with Fanuc 31i control, immaculate located in the UK
The auctioneers removals team replaced the batteries and left the battery covers off!
On power up, all the axis need resetting, but the fatal message is "TD01: This device transference detect" have never seen the like before.
There is a manufacturers label on the cabinet by the main power switch "Transference Detection Deployment" - what on earth is that?
We could probably deal withe the axis, but not the TD01 alarm which stops all data entry and enforces an E stop.
We shipped the machine to Ireland, Miyano/Citizen service will have to travel from the UK.
Any ideas most appreciated.

Sounds like a WMD thing. to keep advanced machines out of Dr Evils grasp.

On a Mori it is the "RMS Unit" You used to be able to resolve it with them with a phone call. Not since the Germans bought them. Now they insist on a service call, to make sure it is where you say it is.

Wow - thank you. Suggests there is a SIMM or the like secreted away, we have searched without success. Cannot but feel other than being ripped off - we can deal with the positioning and zero of the axis but not this.

The actual mechanics of how it works is of course are not disclosed. I know that it can be inadvertently triggered by rapidly breaking and reapplying mains power. That state is usually, but not always recoverable by simply powering down again. I also know that you can trigger it by turning a machine physically 180. Like it can tell North from South.

Thank you both. Perhaps a health warning to all potential buyers of used Citizen/Miyano! Do not move the machine or disconnect the earth on a post 2007 Citizen machine without first exploring the consequences.
Although we are known to the Citizen distributors for 20+ years - they are not permitted to give out the fix code over the phone - they must come over in person. Is that unjustified enrichment? We (and the Citizen distributor) are in the EU with a strictly free movement of goods (and people) protocol.
We found the following info buried inside http://marucit.com/miyano.html:

A motion detector is now a standard, permanent device in all new CITIZEN machines to ensure that any relocation of the machine is consistent with export laws.
It is Marubeni Citizen-Cincom’s policy to comply with all aspects of U.S. laws and regulations relative to U.S. export controls, and in particular with the Commerce Department’s Export Administration Regulations, the State Department’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and the Treasury Department’s various sanctions regulations.
Likewise, Japan has similar export control laws, therefore Citizen Machinery began equipping their machines with a Motion Relocation Detector (MRD).
First introduced on CINCOM in the Asian market in 2001, the MRD proved to be successful in the execution of the security trade control system. Therefore, in April 2007 this system became a standard feature on all new CITIZEN’s whether they are shipped overseas or not.
A password is required during initial installation to start-up the machine as well as each time the machine is moved. Upon repositioning or relocation of the machine an alarm will sound and the machine will shut down. A new password is then required to re-activate the machine. The process is simple — just contact Marubeni Citizen-Cincom prior to moving your machine to verify the location and ensure it is in compliance with export regulations. You will then receive a new password to initiate the start-up at no additional cost to you.
