M8 threaded insert in 12mm bore

Hey guys..

Just seeking some advice.. I have some TSlot aluminium extrusion that has 4 12mm holes each end. I need to make them threaded M8 1.25.

Is there any way to do this? A threaded insert would be ideal but does such a thing exist in that size?

I really appreciate any advices hat can be offered.

Try an M8 Helicoil insert or similar with chemical metal to bond it in place? What kind of torque loading is this going to have to take? Alternately, you could get a local machinist to turn up some 12mm sleeves with m8x1.25 internal threads - it's a bit fiddly, but not that hard to do.

That particular one requires a 10.4 mm hole, max. So probably not too good.
Local machinist is definitely the goods.

Some M8 rivnuts use a 13.5mm hole according to some catalogs. Wrong country no doubt, but here is an example
