Classical guitar maker considering CNC
Hello All,
I've been making traditional Spanish classical and flamenco guitars for almost thirty years now. I've had guitar necks carved by CNC for me in the past, and am now getting serious about getting a CNC machine set up in my own shop.
Hand carving a neck is particularly stressful, as I don't know a way to repair a spot where a bit too much stock has been removed, and still have it look good---I love building guitars, but have never gotten skilled at doing repairs.
Deciding to become a "luthier" has required me to "take the vows of poverty", so I'm looking for advice on an entry level machine dedicated to carving necks. Any guidance would be most appreciated (:->)...
Cheers,
Brian Burns

Brian, i sympathize with the "too much stock has been removed "can't put it back on"
This is the beauty of CAD / CNC, iterative digital reproduction.
Do you have the data for the necks you currently have made?
and if you have paid for custom cad/cnc work the data is yours?
It can be adapted to any machine and cutter combo.
