G-codes that work on one machine may not work on another. The "6040" label is just about the size of the machine, it's not a brand, and different machines that size are sold with different control software (some of which works). You'd be better off figuring out what you've got and learning to generate your own G-code, using a post-processor matched to your particular tool.

The best way of learning is through reading and playing with the machine. The web is full of examples, mr Google is your best friend. Also, you don't even mentioned the software you will be using.
