Good afternoon from Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

I have a Torchmate 4800 Table and Lincoln Electric Plasma Torch that has been purchased for one purpose - to cut 26 gauge steel for heating and cooling applications. We have had the 4800 setup for over 2 months and have gone back and forth with Lincoln's support folks to no avail.

Was curious if there was anyone else out there using this setup for the same application? We have tried 24 gauge steel to humor the support people and have had the same problems as with 26 gauge steel. Lincoln is working on a solution but we would like to get this machine operational sooner than later.

We have the settings just as the book requires for this application and the problem is sporadic (sometimes it works and the very next time it doesn't) the settings don't change nor does the material.

The torch will be cutting and will suddenly fall or drop into the material without any explanation. This causes the magnet to break its connection and causes the program to stop and give an error. All we can figure is it must be a torch issue or a setting conflict in the program.

If anyone could assist, I would love suggestions.
