    Default Gantry Design Doubts. Please.

CNC 112x76x35 mm 3KW spindle for metal milling with 3 motors.

a.- Is there any relation between giro of base ballscrew (long shaft) and the place of the only one motor on the transversal (short shaft) axi (on the right or on the left) ?

b.- and also any relation the place (on the right or on the left) of the only one motor on the transversal (short) axi with the giro of spindle?

c.- and lastly, it will be good to weight balance the mobile gantry on the other side of the motor?

    A lot of thanks.

    Yeeees, of course, thanks.
    In brief please
A.- On the axis of the base (the length of the cnc), do you put the motor on the opposite side of the gantry, or does it not matter?
B.- If the spindle rotates in the direction of the clocks must you place the motor of the short axis (the cnc width) to the right of the portico, or does it not matter?

I have to say that on the base square, i have two rounded parallel linear bearings at the same level height, but the ballscreew is 4 cms above them. Is that a problem?

It's hard to say without seeing a drawing, but 4cm is not very much, and should be OK.
