Default Hands up if you own a Hercus PC 200 or PC160 or Anca

    Hi All
I now know of 4 owners of a Hercus PC 200, they also made a PC 160 which also went out to schools and colleges.
How many owners do we have and are they original or retrofit and turret or not.
I will start , 4 off PC 200 all original, 3 DOS software, one Windows software 2 with turret 2 without.

Oops, nearly forgot, The early lathes were not PC based but built like a proper CNC and I think Nigel owns all of them, not me, the Other Nigel
Come on lets find out how many of these lathes are around.

    Nigel, no not that one!

    Hi Nigel,
I have just bought a PC200 from a local high school, it has no pc or
interface with it and no software.
I have striped out the drives and motors. I am looking at what options I have
to get it operating again, but will probably reuse the motors.

    Cheers John

Just looking around at what may be available in bench cnc lathes.

What would a reasonable price be for a Hercus Computurn?

How do they compare with the Emco Compacy 5 CNC?

    Hi all,
I have a Computurn from 1986. I was a vocational teacher in Pennsylvania, USA and purchased it directly from Hercus. Back then the options were the Orac and a small EMCO. It does have the tool turret. The main board is at UltraLogic for repair for a leaking battery. I'm upgrading the drivers with higher rated bridge rectifiers and heat sinks for all of the transistors.
    Cheers

    Hi All,

I have a Rockford PC 1000, circa 2002. Original. PC Windows based with a turret. I use it once or twice a year just to keep my hand in. I'm thinking about updating the operating system so I could run it manually and program the spindle for constant surface speed. Not sure that is possible, especially on my budget.
