    Default Price for Alloy Recycling

I was told today the Alloy chips I keep to resell because I dont want them to end up in a hole in the ground were worth $0.40kg and any other alloy was $1.40kg.

I was surprised it wasnt the other way around. In fact, I was really surprised there was a difference at all?

What kind of "alloy" is it? That term covers a lot of ground.

Did you keep them separate, or was the low price for mixed chips?

I had 831 lbs of 6061 and 7075 chip, in 8 barrels with a tare of 40 lbs per barrel.
They rang me up as .25c a pound for "aluminum turnings" (2020)

I separated the mix and brought pure 7075 and they rang me up for .46c a pound (2021)
