Starting with .145 thick 400SS water jet from sheet.

Rough stock is 12"x2.

Using a 5" 45 degree face mill to machine back about 8" on both sides.

Cutting a 1.72 degree angle on both sides, .045 thick on one side, .145 on the other.

Would predrilling a bunch of small holes on both sides to just above final depth help with the stress relieving?
