Hi, I just signed up because Laguna wasn't able to help me solve this issue. We have a custom Laguna Tools 150w Co2 laser. 4ftx6ft. It was a floor model. We are in PA so it's too far for a Laguna tech to come to us unless we pay their way.
So I have a few problems. One profound problem is that any curved shape, like a circle, tends to cut with a jagged line. It's not on all circles though. I will try to include a picture. I have dialed in the stepper motors so that my squares are 100mm x 100mm. I've also used several files versions and created circles in Ai, Inkscape, and RD works directly. I am using RD works to control the laser.
Any ideas on what this could be?
The good circle is probably good because of the direction (of Y) the laser was moving to get to the start point.... probably the opposite of the bad circle.
Tighten your belts and makes sure nothing else is loose. You can adjust in software but that's usually for smaller amounts or stuff you just can get rid of by tightening.
The machine could be missing steps too, but backlash is more likely.
