    Default Cutting Stainless Steel Gauze

    Dear All, new member here.

I am looking for the best way to cut some small shapes out of stainless steel gauze. Someone said a laser might be the best way but I know absolutely nothing about this kind of machine.

Id be keen to get some advice on whether there is a suitable benchtop laser device that can be programmed to cut a specific shape out of our gauze or whether a press tool is a better way.

    All advice and help appreciated.

    K

If you have a small set of shapes to make and none are very large, then yes, a set of dies to be used with a press are probably worth investing in. But if there are lots of shapes or they're large, then a fiber laser would be your best bet. Unless you're doing massive quantities of these (and maybe even then) you'd probably be better off finding a shop doing custom laser cutting than trying to set it up yourself.
