Lightbulb Best Laser Cutter for Start Up Business

    Hi all,

Before I begin, I would just like to make it clear that I am absolutely new to the laser cutting industry/world.
Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

First and foremost I am a qualified graphic designer, and recently my partner and I were presented with the opportunity to start up a laser cutting & engraving business. The focus will be on signage and branding. I am most interested in working with three materials; metal, acrylic and wood.

Our plan is to start small (hopefully with one versatile machine that caters to the majority - if not all - of the business needs) and expand as we learn. I am only limited by my minimal knowledge of laser cutting and the mechanical intricacies.

If anyone has an informed opinion/recommendation to share regarding what machinery would be best suited for a start up endeavour such as this - please feel free to share!
Any additional tips/insight are more than welcome.

    Many thanks!

Signage seems like it would require something big. Big means real expensive and difficult to ship. Big also means difficult for alignment. I’m talking cutting.
Engraving could be an attachment to a router as long as you can deal with the smoke. Size isn’t a problem
Btw you could cut metal with plasma.

    Dean, don`t make a mess...
Marking machines ARE NOT big nor difficult to ship.

    Hello,

If you need any help or advise regarding your Co2 laser machines we would be more than happy to help. We offer Co2 lasers machine and parts sales as well as offering maintenance agreements, tech support, parts installation with warranty, maintenance agreements and much more to ensure your machines get back up and running as soon as possible.

Also, you can buy a co2 laser that will cut metal but this does depend on the thickness of metals you are wanting to cut, feel free to get in touch and I'd be happy to advise the best I can.
