    Default Uneven engraving ripples

I just set up the 7W laser and driver from J Tech on my Mach3 / Gecko G540 CNC machine. I’m getting consistent patterned uneven cuts that are visible on engraved areas. I’ve experimented with various PWM inputs to the H4 Control Signal Input, but this has no change to the pattern. I’ve also tried running these cuts in CW mode and the pattern is the same. Adjusting the feed rate higher on my machine makes the lines closer and slowing the feed rate makes the pulsed lines closer together. It seems the laser is spiking in power in a regular sine wave pattern leaving rippled lines in the engraving. Any ideas what could be causing this?
