I have one of these 50 watt lasers also. I'm still not sure if I'm understanding what your problem is. Are you saying it has a deep texture & you want it more smooth? Give as much detail as you can. Are you new to lasers?

Yes I'm new to laser engraving I would like it to smoother as it is leaving a deep texture we're it has engraved
Lower your power setting to max 15%. Then set your speed to 50mm per second. Run a test to check the quality. Set the speed higher or lower until you get what you want. Different woods may need different speeds because of density. Try that out and see if it works.

I'll have a go thanks. Also I think the laser is only engraving one direction is that normal?
1st keep the power at 15% & increase the speed to 300mm per second.
2nd click on "path optimization".
3rd always run the simulation. It will show you exactly how your image will cut, power, speed, the direction of the laser head movement & the time it will take from start to finish.
