I have a light object kit that I assembled and have been using for years. Started with a RECI tube and now just have their std 80w. I literally used it yesterday and it cut great, fast forward to today and it won't fire at all. The tube is about 18 months old with less than 100 hours on it. My problem is how do I know if it is the tube, power supply, or even the control unit. I called around, and the only solution they could offer was to start replacing things until it starts working again..lol

Is it common for tubes to work great one day, then suddenly just die the next with no physical signs of damage? How long should a tube last if it is properly cooled and run within power limits? Is there a way to figure out exactly what is wrong using a std multimeter. I know the power supply is getting power because the fan comes on.
