Fast plywood cutting and marking

We are running a 100W plotter laser to cut and mark (decoration) 3mm plywood. I guess that our laser is too powerful for fine marking, because its traces are too deep. I also would like to get things done faster as what we get right now. I saw a CO2 galvo head laser in action and was thrilled by its performance. My questions are: Can a CO2 galvo head laser be used for plywood cutting and engraving? What is the maximum working size of a galvo laser head? What is the maximum distance between the laser head and the material to get cut/marked? Of course I would like to keep the angle of the edges of the cut out parts as small as possible. Any good link for deep diving into the CO2 galvo lasering? TIA

Can a CO2 galvo head laser be used for plywood cutting and engraving?

Of course. However, keep in mind that the beam will come at an angle at the edges and it will be wider when out of focus. This will be very obvious when cutting 3mm materials unless you get a machine with sliding work bed.

That would depend on the model of the galvo head and the lens used.

I would suggest contacting one of the manufacturers that specialize in this kind of machines. I would start with - Galvo Laser Machine - Golden Laser

For a less expensive alternative, you may check some flat-bed machines with an analog drive system.

I saw on YT even 1000x1000mm

I have Synrads Galvo Head with 100W CO2 RF laser and it can accept different optics.
