I've got a cheap Chinese laser and I'm after a pair of goggles / glasses I can wear when aligning the beam and for general operation because I'm paranoid. Doing a few google searches on CO2 laser glasses returns cheap £8 ones on eBay from China or £60 - £150 ones from safety companies. I'm not sure I trust cheap eBay glasses but I don't really want to pay £60, but will if I have to.
It's a 40W CO2 laser (the ones that are all over eBay for £500)
Can anyone point me to a UK supplier with reasonable prices?
While I'm at it, mine came with a clear perspex lid. All the ones I've seen up till now have orange lids. Should I be scared?
acrylic is 100% opaque to the beam, clear too.... ordinary clear eye protection goggles will work for stray reflections, more likely is getting flesh (hands etc) in the beam path. never ever ever look down the beam path, not even if it is unplugged from the wall, no need to to align, and no such thing as an unloaded gun.
