i know its been a while... but does anyone have this plug (key, dongle, ect.).... or a fix (schematic) for this plug ? I have the machine, but no plug !!!! Help !!!
Ready to pull my hair out.....
I just purchased a used PNC-3200 for my shop. I checked out the machine and everything seems to work fine...except that the spindle motor will not function and the machine will not accept data. Upon further investigation, I discovered that this unit was equipped with a small 8-pin Mini Din connector intended to connect the machine to a safety cover (Roland ZBX-500) that inhibits the operation of the machine if the hood is open. If one does not have such a cover, Roland apparently supplied a "key" which is basically the same din plug with a bunch of jumpers on it to emulate the absent safety cover. There is a mention of this key in the manual and it indeed appears to be just a din-plug with a rubber cap over the back of it to protect the jumpers inside. Unfortunately, I do not possess either the Key or the Cover and I can't find a schematic of the key or the connector into which it goes. Roland no longer sells this key. (what a surprise) Can anyone out there tell me what the jumper configuration is for this key? It appears it is the same for all Roland machines with this safety feature. If you have such a key in your machine, could you kindly pop off the cover and let me know what's inside? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Sal
