Default What DSP’s work for a plasma THC?

    Hello all,

I’ve been running my modified laser cutter as a plasma machine for a while.

Some time ago I upgraded the old leetro DSP to a Sinjoe AWC708c plus.

However now I’m looking at adding a THC to the machine.

Are there any DSP’s like the AWC708c that support THC input
Or is it possible to run a THC independent of the controller where the Z axis is separate from the machine.

One of the more universal THC's is the Proma sd. It will drive a stepper and it runs on its own. It has its down falls and you can get around most of them by timing and the Proma setup. It simply looks for arc voltage and it turns on then when it loses voltage it shuts off. it will dive if you leave the torch on to long after the cut. and it works well only if you have a floating head to zero after each profile. Mine did not like the voltage divider on my Everlast plasma. however, it is set up for raw voltage or a 50:1 divided voltage. This model is surprisingly fast. Mach does not play well with thcs it simply is not fast enough to react well. hope that helps.

You can use Cap04 and CapStp11 for stand alone type THC.
