Default Nema 23 gets warm but won’t move..

Hey there setting up my first CNC Plasma table and have finally got to the wiring stage, iv followed the suppliers wiring with no go… currently have power to the power supply(green light) and power to the drivers and Mach 3 usb board, also config and mach3 all connected to the Mach 3 usb board (red light) and I can’t get movement of my Nema23 steppermotor, it gets warm and can’t turn the spline.. steps and amps are set on the drivers! Mach 3 recognizes the card and I can move the axis but motors won’t move..

    Specs:
    Mach 3 USB
    Windows 10, 64bit
    Nema 23 stepper motors (57hs112)
    DM542 Drivers
    S-350-36 power supply

    Hi,
steppers get warm, even hot, just sitting idle, that's the way they are.

What you need to know is if the breakout board is providing Step pulses to the drive, from your description I would say not.
Does either the drive or the breakout board have LEDs on the output? They are one way to establish if pulse are being produced.

Yes the DM542 driver has a light on it, and Mach 3 board has a light, the light does blink when I move the x and y axis in mach3, just can’t get any movement from the motor..

    Check wiring again.

Always the same pattern on driver control area, +5v parallel wired to all +ve P/D connections, P/D -ve connections to controller board P/D.
The occasional breakout board shows them switched round.
Called Common cathode or Common anode.

Are you sure you've got your jumpers and dip switch settings correct? https://kitaez-cnc.com/f/dm542.pdf

Just a thought, have you ever been checked for colour blindness? It could be a pair of connections that need to be switched.
