Default Can You ID this Motor?

I have this motor in my box of electrical items but unfortunately I don’t remember from where I got it, most likely from an appliance. The markings on the motor housing are:
    ERS-5512SP-1583-K
    120/60HZ, NO:0910
    EVER MOTOR

And on the face at the end of the motor is marked BV BR

I know it is 120VAC and when I plug it spins quite fast after I push and hold the switch. I don’t understand the wiring connecting to the switch, looks quite strange to me.

Is it possible to replace the switch with a regular ON/OFF switch? How, just remove the switch and put a new ON/OFF switch?

Is it possible to add something to let it soft start (now it goes full speed instantly)

Looks like a vacuum cleaner motor or something like that. It's a brushed universal motor. A router speed controller should control it.
