I would use Denatured Alcohol. Get it at the hardware store. This is how the solder flux was removed from the boards when new.
First inspect the board for any parts that might be harmed like speakers, batteries... IC's caps and resisters are ok to dunk. Make sure that any loose parts are secured. Ensure the chips are seated properly. Anything with heatsinks be careful. You don't want to dissolve the white heatsink grease.
Take the boards out and put them in a tray of alcohol and use a soft paint brush so scrub a little. Take the board out and let the alcohol run off. Use low pressure air (can of dust off) to blow off any remaining alcohol.
Do the boards one at a time and test after each. Also take the opportunity to inspect the wiring for mouse chewing.
