How to clean mouse pee off of circuit boards

Opened up my buddys mill the other day.
It was running good, but stunk real bad.
There was a wad of papers built into a mouse nest.
Also, there is a sticky looking film on everything.
He is wanting to use CRC cleaner on it.
Soak it down, and wait a week or so for it to dry.

His wife said baking soda in a tray might absorb the smell.

Someone said use soapy water and rinse.
I'm not sure about that.

I would use Denatured Alcohol. Get it at the hardware store. This is how the solder flux was removed from the boards when new.

First inspect the board for any parts that might be harmed like speakers, batteries... IC's caps and resisters are ok to dunk. Make sure that any loose parts are secured. Ensure the chips are seated properly. Anything with heatsinks be careful. You don't want to dissolve the white heatsink grease.

Take the boards out and put them in a tray of alcohol and use a soft paint brush so scrub a little. Take the board out and let the alcohol run off. Use low pressure air (can of dust off) to blow off any remaining alcohol.

Do the boards one at a time and test after each. Also take the opportunity to inspect the wiring for mouse chewing.

The way it is wired, would it be possible for him to clean it without removing the boards?
They way they are wired, it would be a big ordeal.
