Are you using Ref All before issuing the G28?
Good morning all.
Second post here.
I ended up upgrading my chinese USB mach3 controller to an Ethernet Smoothstepper as per forum recommendation
Most functions are working but I cannot get the homing to work.
Here is what happens :
Each home switch is wired to an independent input.
I can trigger the limits/Home switches manually and the LED on the BOB will be triggered and they will appear on MACH3 Diagnostic page.
If the switch is set as Home only (not as a limit) and I send the command to home (G28 X0), X goes in the in the right direction and will not stop once it hits the switch.
If the switch is set as Home/limit and I send the command to home (G28 X0), X goes in the in the right direction and mach3 trips on Limits switch (this makes me confident that the wiring is correct and that the switches are working correctly and that mach 3 can see the signal)
Same on Y axis, haven't tried on Z
Browsing thru forums, some members got it to work by using the denouncing feature of ESS.
I tried various values from 1.43ms to 14.3ms with no difference.
I also tried to enable/disable using ESS homing features with no difference.
Setup :
Dedicated computer with direct Ethernet connection to ESS and running licenced Mach3 version 3.043.062 Installer with Windows 10 Fix (as per ESS manufacturer recommendation) and ESS_Mach3_2019_02_25__10w2a_10f1.zip (latest at the time of writing)
Dedicated Power supply to ESS, 5V measured on it.
It seems to me that hardware and software are working correctly but that either MAC3 or ESS ignores the switches whilst homing. As anyone encountered this issue before or has any suggestions as to what may cause the issue?
