Terminal block, plug-in terminal block. A colloquial name is "Phoenix terminal".
Does anyone know the name of the connector type that's used in a lot of CNC hardware - the green plugs that you screw wires into? I genuinely can't remember what they're called, and googling 'green plug screw terminal' turns up the THD screw connectors instead.

Ah, phoenix terminal - that was it. Thanks
Green is usually reserved for the GND terminations, these automatically connect the terminal to the enclosure frame, they are also coloured green/yellow.
These terminal types are also known as DIN rail terminals.
Other manuf. are Weidmuller & Allen-Bradley etc.

Al, you're thinking of something different. I think the OP is referring to PCB mount terminal blocks, which very often are green, like these: https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...1585-ND/568622
