Default Secondary Operations on Small Stamped\Lasercut\Water Jet Parts

    Hello,

I'm an engineer working on a design for a robot operated CNC machine specialized around secondary operations. However, I'm not a machinist so I'd love to know what the economics of these kind of operations are. I'm wondering if you guys can share some of your experience on what these operations are typically priced at and what the real difficulties are when manufacturing them.
    Here's some example operations:

Bringing outside profile into tolerance/removing burr from stamping operation.

Cutting a pocket into the part:

Engraving Logos, Company Names, Part Identifiers, etc:

My hope is to reduce the cost of secondaries/high cycle time small operations down.

    Thanks!

If you are stamping the parts then proper die design should be able to over come all your secondary operations, for laser and waterjet then it comes down to quanitys allowing for investment in better fixturing.
