    I think you've got to adjust your parameters.... This was on another site helping somebody with a similar problem...

    "try M21 advance M22 retract but you will have to adjust a setting in your parameters. I forget which one it's in the 90's or 100's. hope this helps"

    Really?? On my Hitachi Seiki HT-20SII, you can't move the tailstock when the spindle is turning... and you can't start the spindle unless the tail stock if fully retracted or touching a part...

    I wasn't able to get that link to work. Any update on the parameter number that needs to be adjusted? I have a Mori so it should be M25/26 but maybe I need to enable something?

    hi, for my SL 25 b1000 with fanuc 10TF, I use M21 and M22 for tailstock

    That's what I've found, definitely have M5 before moving quill in either direction.
