    Default G43 help needed

    HI
My company just bought a old retro g&l machine with fanuc 16i control. Machine have x,y,z,w axis.
Z is spindle axis and W is table, it is a large horizontal machine.
with all of our other machines we use
g43 h number and axis w or z, depend on machine and always one axis move its always a table not spinde.
With this one both axis move z nad w.
    when i write:
    g17 g40 g80 g90:
    g54 g0 x0 y0 z0 ( machine go to point and move spindle to point what i have in offset g54) (z-10)
g43 h1 w10 ( mchine move to w10 but instead only move on w axis machine move z also, value from h1 is subtracted) (h1=5 machine move 5 inches spindle inside )

My question is how to call lenght compesation only with w ?
    So sorry about my english.
Thank You all for your help.
