    Default Live Tool Helical Milling - G12.1 mode - (10)- 1.437 dia holes @ 1.66 dp - 24" B.C

i need to put 10 holes on the face. I pilot drill them thru with a .6875 drill, but then
I need to interpolate a counter bore on a 24" B.C at 1.66 inch deep and 1.437 dia. Can use a .500 -.625 end mill. I know I need to use the G12.1. I have a Doosan PUMA 700. I have no Y axis. Just X, Z, C. Looking for an example of helical milling program on this.

    Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, a Doosan Puma 700 is a LATHE, not a mill. So far what you are asking does not make a lot of sense to me.

    Cheers

When your lathe has a C-axis you have always driven tools, so he can mill with the C-axis, radial and axial.
You can mill also a hexagon with a C-axis, ideal is an Y-axis.

Check your manual for the G12.1

If you have a look at the thread a few down from this one titled “thread milling with live tooling” I have made a macro that does what you are asking. I have ran it multiple times now. This may help you if you need it done sooner rather than later. Any questions give me a message. There are programs for hole milling and also thread milling, I could alter the hole milling one to make it easier to follow if needed. Hopefully you get an example of the G12.1 cycle shortly though.
