Question .rou convert, any "free" way

I need 4 files converted from .rou (I guess files were made in Enroute) to whatever common file type possible - .dxf, (maybe .ai) etc.

It is a pity that no other software supports importing .rou files and there is no free way of converting them without getting an Enroute subscription.

Please, don't get me wrong, I don't want someone to do the job for me, I just couldn't find ANY other way (3+ hours google searches). I would be glad to convert them myself if somebody knows a way and gives me i tip of how to do it!

There's probably almost zero incentive for someone to reverse engineer the Enroute file format and write a converter.
