Default Is there a reason cnczone URLs are not allowed in PMs?

If I try and send someone a PM containing a URL to an existing thread here (https://www.cnczone.com....) I get an error "Server Error 403 Forbidden You do not have permission to access this document" which isn't very helpful at describing the issue.

Other urls may also cause the error (linuxcnc etc). However https urls to google drive are accepted.

I sent you a PM with a URL, seems to be working. Not sure what the problem is.

I replied with that URL and it worked.

I just tried to send you a PM with just "https://www.cnczone.com/forums/benchtop-machines/348614-happens-lubrication-fails.html" and it failed.

I tried again with Chrome extensions all disabled. Still fails.

It worked from my end. Is it possible you are not getting a good copy of the URL?

OK, one possibility is that you need to add some text to the message, above the URL. I have found that just sending just the URL does not work. For whatever reason a message without some text will fail, like trying to send a picture or maybe a URL

i've run into this off and on here. I always have text. I have to just strip out the link in the end.

In the test I sent to you, I didn't have text but trust me I see the same WITH text. Like several paragraphs worth.

If you're pinging someone to ask them an old thread it's quite annoying.

In that case, I really have no idea what the problem is.
