    Default CNCzone outage

    Hi,

for the last five days , I have been unable to connect to cnczone, it returned a 503 page. Initially, it did not even do that , the connection simply timed out. After a while I tried through a proxy but that got the same response.

[EDIT] the forum has messed with my post . I typed the URL and it got turned into a garbage link is NOT what I posed. I entering basic domain name.

I tried 4 or 5 times a day. Oddly, now it is back up, I do not see any announcement or other indication there was a known problem.

I connect from southern Europe and it seems to be hosted through CloudFire. There was some indication on 503 page that it may have been over quota or something.

What was this about and why no announcement about it now things are back to normal?

    Thanks.

I'm guessing server maintenance. I assumed it can't have just been me.

Thanks rip. I was starting to wonder if it was just a local problem.

IMO that kind of "server maintenance" usually means DDOS. They use CloudFire which is supposed to protect from that but I think it got shut down due to bandwidth limits. Again looks like DDOS.Most professional services have enough redundancy that are able keep things live whilst switching hardware.

It's not normal for a site to go off line for about 5d for maintenance/repairs. That usually means they were under attacik.

Maybe someone forgot to pay the electric bill.
