Step Pulse Width is dependant on the motor driver that you are sending step and direction signals to. You should look at the manufacturer抯 specification of the driver to determine the Step Pulse Width in addition to the step direction setup and other characteristics of what it takes to send an acceptable signal to the motor driver.

With the USB Signal Generator, the Step Pulse Width and the maximum feedrate are pretty much independent of each other with the exception of the step rate frequency can never be greater than the inverse of the pulse width.

Maximum feedrate should be based on the maximum step rate, which is currently about 50,000 steps per second. It should also be based on the actual physics of the motor and machine that you are driving. The best way to figure this out is experimentally.
