Precision and Accuracy of Saturn Series CNC Machines

What is the accuracy of Saturn series CNC machines?

The machine uses rack and pinion drive system. The 54in rack that they use on the Saturn machines is being sold on their website for $85. For this price the rack is probably AGMA 8 or 9.

Is the base frame that the racks and linear rails are bolted to annealed and machined after welding?

The base frame is not machined post weld. It does however undergo a post weld heat treatment before it’s removed from the welding fixture.

The machines are rated to:
X/Y Resolution: 0.0005”
Z Resolution: 0.0002”
Repeatability: +/- 0.001”
Accuracy: +/- 0.005” or better
