    1) He has an MB2 board, which is a little different. I'm guessing that the ports and pins are not a direct match, so his profile may not be any good for you.

    2) Depending on the current status of UCCNC and/or various input switches, the LED's that are lit at any time may be completely different.

    Thanks Gerry,

I know they are different but intended as the same. I was looking for some guidance on the other settings beyond pinouts. As you know, there are a lot of values in that profile that affect machine behavior. I am a complete novice to this so all input is useful. I am now in the trouble shooting game of try this / look at that possible problem in an effort to get up and running.

The only values that really affect the machine are the 5 (?) CV settings, and accel and velocity settings.

If your machine won't move, is it perhaps the enable pins? What are those black wires connected to on the outputs?

I originally had an MB2, then switched to a UB-1. You may need to change the active low settings for some inputs and outputs.
Did you verify all the port and pin numbers from the MB2 profile, to see if they match your setup?

Just wondering, why don't you just use Mach3? If the folks that sold you the board, can't provide you with any help. My ESS router is up and running.

I guess because mach3 is an end of life product with lots of glitches which will be never fixed.

And UCCNC is better, in many ways.

Yet there are thousands of Mach3 / 4 users around the world using everyday and a huge support base and it works. UCCNC does not have that support base. If it did this machine would be running by now. I would switch it over, find a profile that works for Mach3 and get it running. Then when you know it works go to UCCNC.

You are very wrong. They have their own support forum: forum.cncdrive.com • Index page
They don't help if you not asking them.

Ok I am corrected. So why doesn't OP ask over there and hopefully get some help? I am not discounting going to UCCNC myself.

I have got a UC400ETH motion controller on my Chinese small router, so my profile I have now on Mach3 just port over, with some tweaks of course.

I told him what I think the problem is. He's using a profile for an MB2 breakout board, when he has a UB-1 breakout board. The majority of port and pin numbers do not match between these two, and all need to be changed.
It really makes no sense at all to even start with that. It's easier to start from scratch, so you don't have to change the ones that are wrong.

Setting up UCCNC is virtually identical to setting up Mach3, and probably even easier.

I have no idea about that. You should ask the OP.

He really hasn't asked here, other then saying he can't get it to jog.

OK guys you have me convinced, when I get this Fineline router up and running I will switch my other one over to UCCNC.

There is even a simpler way to switch to UCCNC if this machine comes with a prebuilt control box with stepper drives and BOB installed. You can connect that to a UC300ETH-5LPT controller. It has ports compatible with the printer port.

    I already have a UC400ETH installed.

The conversion will be simple then.

Its a much smaller machine and I hope to get very good control, better than Mach3. It has ball screws all the way around and for a Chinese built machine its very good. BTW my wife is 1/2 Swedish, her mom was born in US to Swedish immigrants. She has been over several times to visit her cousins.

    Thanks Gerry,

I am away from the machine til tomorrow. My plan is to step through the ports / pin-outs and verify all connections. In fact is was the accel and velocity settings that I was interested in as Robert and I are building with the same servos; among other issues.

I do believe that there are issues with the enable circuitry and wiring generally. The black wires feed the proximity sensors. I am looking to clarify all h-ups tomorrow as well. i'll let you all know how it goes.

I understand, but if you used his profile, your motors will not move,
