Running a 2002 Robodrill A -T14 iC Fanuc 16i -M Control using HSM works SW add in to post the following. She slows way down (odd 11.81 in/min) on a straight line x travel then resumes at the G03 arc and remains on a straight line. Doesn't always happen very arbitrary as were it selects to do this. 2d and 3d geometry are both affected. Tool size nor path seems to dictate the occurrence.
Anyone see something in this code or have experience with a similar issue on this machine/controller? Any additional info will gladly be supplied as I'm sure I missed something.
Are you sure G05 P10000 is the proper way to turn on the look ahead? Maybe G05P1
Try it without the Look Ahead (or whatever they call it) and just for fun put a G1 in front of that slow down line. But really nothing seems wrong. Maybe you have a mechanical or electrical issue.
Thanks, GentleGiant. I'll try to add the G1 and no HPCC. The machine and post were from previous owner who said the P10000 was required to turn on the old gen HPCC. Does P1 perform the same function? Not needed in this case so will try not using to see if changes.
The Robodrill control is one of the most advanced things I've ever seen
There is a "Power and Consumption Monitoring" function that may be on on the Quick side that will limit motor current to maintain a certain Kw on the machine that will slow it down.
Also check what "Machining Level" you are at as it's modal. M31 Lxx is the code. L1 - L6.
These are explained in the Robodrill manual B-85224EN.
G05 P10000 is HPCC (High-precision contour control) and that comes with a massive amount of parameters. Your machine may be tuned a certain way to slow down before reaching an arc/curve of a certain size or below or a parameter may be set incorrectly causing it to look ahead to the next curve too far in advance. parameters start around 8400 and up for HPCC with RISC.
