I'm working on a wasino profile grinder with fanuc om controller that lost its memory. I input the nc parameters and tried to do the pc(diagnostic) parameters but it will only allow me to imput #500-509. I have all the remaining parameters to input but it won't take them? Any ideas?

No alarms. All the diagnostic parameters except # 500 thru 509. I was able to input those. Machine won't home.
Hello ,
then you must open the software limits.
prm 700 (stroke limit + direction) for x axis (write down the actual number ) make it 99999999
prm 701 (stroke limit + direction) for z axis (write down the actual number ) make it 99999999
prm 704 (stroke limit - direction) for x axis (write down the actual number ) make it -99999999
prm 705 (stroke limit - direction) for z axis (write down the actual number ) make it -99999999

What are the parameter numbers for the y axis. Its a profile grinder and only has x&y axis.
Thanks again
The parameters that I stated apply for the Y axis. Instead of Z axis those parameters apply for the Y axes
Remember that when changing those parameters, the axes will not stop until the reach the hardware overtravel switch. If the hardware overtravel switch malfunction, you may damage the screwball.

With those parameters input, when I try to home it. An error 426 (y axis disconnect) comes up now. I'm going to try taking the servo connections off and cleaning them with electrical contact cleaner?
Yes the x axis seems fine. The y axis seems to vibrate when you jog it. Then as soon as you move it fast, it kicks the alarm. I"m thinking the servo needs tuned for the y axis?
Opps, I was wrong, it gives an alarm 90 when doing a zero return in the x axis. But it does move nice and smooth in the x axis as compared to the y.
I found that 8203 parameter was incorrect. I changed it and now the vibration is gone. And I found that the limit switch(deceleration)was set incorrectly for the x axis. The machine now homes!!!!
The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the multiplier. When I crank the handles it moves in slow speed regardless of the multiplier setting( x1, x5,or x10). Any ideas?
Thanks so much! You've been so helpful. Rich
Correction......The multiplier is working just not in the same ratio it did previously. On x1, 1 turn on the handwheel =.001(inch) and x5 =.005 and x10=.010. It works fine this way, just different ratio than previously. We used to grind on x5 before. Now we grind on x10 to make it feel the same.
Thanks again for all your help. I couldn't have got it running without your help! Rich
Any help on an alarm 11. It occurs when trying to do taper in automatic mode(forward or back buttons) the taper works fine if I crank the handles but not in auto mode??
No, I didn't command a feed rate. The grinder manual says its variable macro #500 and to consult the fanuc operators manual which I don't have. How do I set a federate?
Never mind, I found it. It was in menu offset button.
Thanks again, Rich
