Hello guys!
So, I got a new to me Nakamura TW-10 and I'm not being successful at uploading a program into it.
I can send programs from the controller to my PC fine but get the LSK error when I try to upload?
I can communicate to my other machine with a Fanuc 21iT just fine.
Ive not messed with the baud rate yet witch is set at 9600.I have a Null adapter that works on the 21iT
The procedure I am using is setting the mode to edit ,program MDI soft key, OPRT soft key, read soft key then get LSK error.
What am I missing here.
Thanks
Claude
I'm not sure what your problem is, but LSK is not an error. I don't know what it stands for (Label Skips?) but I do know it is not an error. It is normal to see it flashing until it changes to INPUT once it see's something coming in. You must have a setting or two set incorrectly.
LSK means the machine is in the ready to receive mode. It is looking for the % sign to open the port. Try with your cable unplugged and see if you get the same thing or the DR OFF alarm. If you get the same thing then either you have the wrong port or you have a hardware failure. If you do get the DR OFF then you have the correct port and you must make sure that your files structure is correct (%). Try sending in a file that you just received.
Man this thing is kicking my butt. I changed every setting one by one in my editor. Cimco edit. still no go.
The port works just don't send the go signal back to PC. I can send programs to PC but not receive.
I tried with with the same programs sent from controller, same computer as the other machines.
The % are all there. so close yet so far.
I just reached out to the Nakamura guy for help.
I'll keep you up to date as I make headway..
Based on a setting sometimes you have to start the CNC ready to receive state before sending the file, other times you start sending the file then you start the CNC ready to receive. Try it both ways. Also, did you try the second port?

Reason: Added Data
Problem solved!!
Parameter 0102 Device Num.(ch0) was set at 4 for Loop Back Handshake now set at 1 for Null Modem Cable.
It's the little things.
Thanks for all the input guys.
