you can adjust the home position with parameter 1850, or you can try to adjust the home dog, or both.
So I had the ball screw nuts out of XY and Z to check and clean, X&Y home fine, Z homes into the tool changer clamp, way to high for home.
I have tried everything I know which isn’t much with no love. I have changed the nut location, works fine until you do a can/P then right back to where it was.
It’s hitting the decel dog, sometimes it will slow and other times it will continue to travel fast to home.
Any help will earn you pleasure knowing you have helped out an old guy who’s just getting into his first vmc!

I will change the grid shift (1850) and see what happens. This sets the counter after the decel dog right?

Is it possible that you disturbed the switch positions or the actuator levers? Maybe the switches are just a bit out of adjustment? Not sure why you would need to change parameters if all of the work done was mechanical.

...possibly did not reassemble in the same position if, your machine has a coupler between Z axis motor and the screw (120 degrees out one way or the other)

I didn’t take out the z ball screw just supported the spindle then lowered the nut while the motor was locked then back together. I think it got screwed up when I tried to set home with parameter 1815 instructions. I have incremental encoders btw

Changing 1850 worked, homes nicely out of the way of ATC And fine tune with the dog too
