Fanuc system 3T F error

Hi sir ,

I am nishil Patel from Vancouver Canada .

I have Nakamura tome make methods slant 1 turning centre lathe machine having a control 3T F .

The problem is when i sending a program from computer it shows P/S alarm : 086

following are the setting of the machine parameter
parameter 1 : - 10111010 (Bit 4=I/O ,bit 1 = ISO , BIT 0= TV CHECK )
PARAMETER 5 BIT 0 = 0
PARAMETER 14 BIT 0 =0
PARAMETER 68 = 4800 (BAUD RATE)
PARAMETER 69 = 4800 (BAUD RATE )

FOLLOWING ARE THE COMPUTER SETTING : -

BAUD RATE = 4800
DATA BITS = 7
ASCII = EVEN
STOP BITS = 1
HAND SHAKE = X ON/X OFF
PORT TYPE = STANDARD

CONNECTOR DETAILS OF THE 25 PIN D TYPE MALE CONNECTOR(DB 25 CNC ) AT MACHINE SIDE FROM FANUC SYSTEM 3T F AT MASTER PCB DOOR
1= SHIELD
2=RED ( TRANSMIT DATA)
3 GREEN (RECEIVE DATA)
4 & 5 SHORTED (5 IS FOR CTS AND 4 IS FOR RTS)
6= BLUE
7 = WHITE (MAY BE SIGNAL GROUND )
8 & 20 SHORTED (8 IS FOR DCD AND 20 IS FOR DTR )

NOW THE PROBLEM IS I AM USING WINDOWS 10 COMPUTER HAVING A GIBBS CAM SOFTWARE WITH IT AND I AM USING ONE USB TO 9 PIN CONVERTER AND 9 PIN CONVERTER TO 25 PIN D TYPE CONNECTOR WHICH IS DIRECTLY GOING IN TO THE MACHINE DB 25 PIN MALE CONNECTOR , IN SHORT
USB>9 PIN D TYPE CONNECTOR >25 PIN D TYPE CONNECTOR >25 PIN D TYPE MALE CONNECTOR OF THE MACHINE .
WHEN I SELECT EDIT MODE AND SEND PROGRAM WITH STARTIG O00001 AND PRESS INPUT , 086 ERROR CAME .

PLEASE HELP ME TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE...

if 086 comes on instantly when trying in/out it may be mis-configured cable termination at control DB25.
With XON/XOFF pins 4 - 5 must be shorted and separately 6 - 8 - 20 should be shorted together.

The setup is using "flow control" Xon/Xoff. Why have more wires involved that you have to? finding a PC that will do hardware control THROUGH an adapter is going to be difficult, nowadays.
Why make it difficult? 3 wires, Xon/Xoff. Simple.

My P.M.s were not working so here is what I answered.
The 25pin D socket end should have RX & TX on 2 & 3 and 7 is common the following are shorted, 4-5 , 6-8-20.
The 086 error I believe is the RS232 IC's bad, I have the number of them if you need.

The DR (Data Set Ready) signal goes to a 75189A IC. May be the same IC as the RD (Receive Data) signal or not.
Need the 3TF schematics to verify. The 3 "F" controls may have a separate reader/puncher board similar to the 10 series.

i have FS-3M Schematics & checked if your MASTERBORD A16B-1000-0010 ic loaction B8 75189A & B9 75188 is for RS232 communication. sorry for openly post picture on forum if anyone needed picture i can send in PM.

Yes, we used the MC versions as we had those in stock.
Often cured the 086 fault which is not listed in the alarm list.

pin 2 -------------- pin 2 ok
pin 3 -------------- pin 3 ok
pin 5 -------------- pin 7 not came
pin 7 -------------- pin 5 ok
pins 6 & 8 --------- pin 4 ok

(no 6-8-20 jumper needed on this cable
what can i do now ?
