Default Doosan Puma 2100Y tapping mistery

    Hello,

a friend of mine has a problem on above-mentioned machine. He tries to make a thread with live tool with this code:
but the machine only jumps like Pumaforward and back, rotate live tool only a little. Last month the same program was working without problems.
No alarm is issued, the machine executes rest of the program to the end.Any hint?

    regards

Sounds like a milling person working on a lathe...
Lathes normally work in feed per rev... F375. means the thread pitch is really HUGE
    try a F1.25 (I'm guessing it's for a M8x1.25p tap)

Thank you again, your hint works like a charm. Only one problem is still bothering my friend, why this code works some time ago? He also checked some other programs, that were used for production, he wrote them the same way, at the time he uses them were working, now they not anymore?

    best regards

It all depends on what feed mode the machine is in before executing a "drill cycle".
Lathes default setting at powerup is set to feed per rev. (G95)
or can be set to feed per minute (G94) within the program.... the is where the F375. would have worked in your situation

Running a lathe in G95 is best as when you adjust RPM by the pot.... the feed remains at the programmed feedrate unless altered by the feed override pot.

    NOTE...
The feed and speed cannot be altered by the override pots when threading or tapping

The Doosan 2100Y uses the g code of g98(IPM) and G99(IPR)
the picture of the control shows that you are in G99(upper right side of picture) causing the feed rate to be 375.0 IPR
