Help how to dnc drip feed on my Fanuc

I bought a micro dnc from eBay for my 1989 kiwa excell colt 510 that has a Fanuc om control....I use sdnc to transfer my programs from my laptop with a rs232 but when I use the dnc it will not work..I do have “tape” option on my control knob and I checked g127.5 when I go to tape it changes to “1” but will not drip program. Can anyone help me out ?

Because it works to DNC from your laptop then we can assume the machine is setup correctly. I'm not familiar with the Micro DNC but I have a couple Calmotion DNC units so I imagine the setup is similar. Is this the correct unit? Start by checking the laptop settings and the configure the Micro DNC similarly. On my machines of similar vintage I use:

Baudrate 4800
Data bits 7
Stop bits 2
Parity Even
Flow control Xon/Xoff

See page 13 of the user manual. Default from the factory is 19200 baud. This needs to match your machine. Everything else looks acceptable. Shake Hand: Software, I'd assume is XON/XOFF.

Are you using the same cable as you used with the laptop? If not, compare the pinouts and make sure your wired correctly.

Yes I’m using same cable as well as the cable that came with the device, I have baud rate set at 9600 but do you think I need to set it at 4800?

Are you using 9600 baud on the laptop?

Check parameter #0552 (baud rate) on the control. The Micro DNC must match.

My laptop sdnc is set at 9600 so that’s what I set it at but I will double check that parameter
